Thank you for the opportunity to work with such a great composer and his great staff. -- J. Warnes
It was a great honor to work with Jerry, and I did so many times over the years. For THE SECRET OF NIMH. I remember singing that sweet song in the studio with him, and as I recall, we recorded it live with theorchestra. That is not done so often now. But it was so long ago, that aside from remembering that I wasso pleased and excited to have been asked to sing the song, I don't remember too many details from the session.
Jerry was so admired and respected by all the musicians here in Los Angeles, and I believe around the world.
The last project I worked on for him was "Looney Tunes: Back In Action" in 2003, one of the last scores he wrote.
He was very ill at the time, and had to conserve his strength, so he would conduct the orchestra a limited length of time, and then leave, and we recorded the vocals with one of his orchestrators in the booth. It was just a small local group, but was fun because one of the cues involved my high solo vocal creating the sound of a theramin (spelling?)
(that early electronic instrument).
Jerry was there for that cue, and we had fun doing it !
Votre site est magnifique , Congratulations !
Sally.
